Why this site exists

Search for "make money online" and you'll drown in garbage: dead links, affiliate spam, casino ads dressed up as earning sites, and Ponzi schemes promising 5% daily returns. The whole category has a trust problem — and the reason is simple. Most "earning directories" are paid placements pretending to be reviews.

We built Earn Online Directory as the opposite. Every site is checked against current payout evidence before it's listed. Every category has its own trust score based on real data. Sites that fail get demoted, flagged, or blacklisted — regardless of whether they offer us a referral commission.

What we actually check

The signals differ slightly by category, but the framework is consistent. For every platform we track:

• Current payout evidence — has the site actually paid users recently? For crypto sites we check FaucetPay's live payout directory and independent monitors like Faucet Monitor. For survey and GPT sites we check SurveyPolice, Trustpilot and user reports. For freelancing we check payment protection, escrow terms and recent withdrawal complaints.
• Site age and continuity — has it survived multiple market cycles, or was it registered three months ago?
• Independent monitoring data — third-party trackers that record live payment timestamps, app store ratings, and independent directory listings.
• Community votes — anonymous, one vote per device, blended with our editorial score once a site has at least three votes.
• Known complaints — patterns of "withdrawal pending for weeks" across Trustpilot, Reddit and Bitcointalk are penalised hard.
• Published rules and clarity — sites that clearly state minimum withdrawals, prohibited practices and terms score higher than sites with vague FAQs.

How categories are scored

Each of our 11 categories has its own trust score from 0 to 100. It's not an average — it's a weighted blend of the median site score, the percentage of sites still active, and whether the category has enough current evidence to be reliable. Categories with fewer than five sites display "not enough data" rather than a misleading number.

The point of a category score is honesty. Faucets pay pennies per hour. Surveys pay £1–£10. Freelancing pays £10–£100+. Once you see the numbers side by side, you can decide where to spend your time rather than bouncing between sites that all claim to be "the best".

How we're funded

Two ways: display advertising, and referral commissions when someone signs up through a link on our site. Referral links are clearly marked — a "Visit" button with a referral link will say so. Referral commissions never affect a listing's trust score or status. Sites that fail our checks are flagged or blacklisted regardless of whether they pay us anything.

What we don't do

• We don't sell listing positions or guaranteed placements
• We don't accept payment for positive reviews

• We don't provide financial, legal, tax or investment advice
• We don't publish unverified claims about any platform

Our editorial voice

We write plainly. If a site pays pennies, we say so. If a platform is a casino dressed up as a faucet, we say that too. If we don't know yet whether a site is reliable, we mark it "under review" rather than inventing a score.

Where we have opinions, they're clearly editorial — not disguised as facts. Where we have gaps in our data, we say so. Where we've made a mistake, we correct it visibly rather than quietly.
